Artist Beatriz Belen was born in Xátiva, Valencia. She had an unconventional childhood, her parents both being actors, they would travel different places for work. She is an only child so she would spend a lot time in the local libraries and loved to read and draw.
Beatriz is a self-taught artist, who began her art career by working with ceramics and resin jewellery. She loves to paint with bright colours to capture the emotion and harmony of her landscape, and memories of her childhood.
She later moved to Fuenbralada, Spain which is where she currently lives and works. Her husband is from Denmark so they often travel across Europe together in their camper van. Living in the Spanish sunny landscape and spending time in European cities has influenced her work as well as artists like Joan Miró, René Magritte, Félicien Rops and Marc Chagall.
